We are seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper/Maintenance technician to maintain and enhance the appearance and functionality of outdoor spaces. This role involves performing landscape maintenance, operating various tools, and ensuring the safety and aesthetic appeal of the property. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and landscape care, along with strong maintenance skills to support a well-kept environment.
Duties
- Mow and trim lawn to maintain a tidy appearance using hand tools and power equipment
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, fertilizing, and mulching
- Monitor irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns
- Use hand tools and power tools occasionally for repairs and general maintenance of outdoor areas
- Maintain gardens by planting new flora, removing weeds, and caring for existing vegetation
- Inspect grounds regularly to identify areas needing repair or attention
- Assist with the installation and upkeep of outdoor features such as walkways, fences, or lighting fixtures
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including leaf blowing, stick removal, pond maintenance
- Ensure safety procedures are followed during all maintenance activities to prevent accidents
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools such as shovels, pruners, rakes, and hoes
- Experience with horticulture principles and landscape maintenance techniques
- Ability to operate power tools including trimmers, blowers, and small machinery safely
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and gardening best practices
- Strong maintenance skills with an eye for detail in outdoor environments
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Good organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in maintaining high standards of grounds care
