Technicore Underground Inc., is a leading tunneling/construction company in Newmarket, Ontario, is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join its team. Heavy Equipment Mechanic key responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently in demanding job site conditions. Experience working, Construction equipment, drilling rigs, and related support equipment is a strong asset.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and preform accurately all aspects of equipment including engine systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drivetrains and powertrain, preventative maintenance, field repairs in a safe and professional manner.
- Inspecting heavy equipment construction equipment for proper performance, defects and malfunctions
- Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required
- Remove, overhaul and reinstall mechanical components with minimal supervision
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools
- Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
- Lead preventative maintenance, safety inspections and annual maintenance inspections
- Lead field service calls and emergencies services as necessary
- Adhere to all company standards, policies and procedures
Requirements:
- 421A Heavy Equipment Technician
- Valid G driver’s license (AZ/DZ considered an asset)
- Must have appropriate mechanic tools
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Experience with tunneling, boring, or drilling equipment preferred
- Ability to work in field conditions and adapt to changing job sites
- Ability to work independently as well as part of the team
- Ability to work assigned shift
- Must have vehicle to report to the shop as we are not on a bus route
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $54.16 per hour
