Job Overview – ECE Substitute Teacher
We are looking for a caring, reliable, and flexible Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Substitute Teacher to support our childcare team as needed. The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children while following licensing regulations and center policies. This role may involve covering staff absences, breaks, vacations, and supporting different age groups throughout the center.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and positive classroom environment
- Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development
- Follow daily routines, schedules, and licensing requirements
- Communicate professionally with staff and families
- Assist with meals, transitions, toileting, and outdoor play
- Work collaboratively with team members in different classrooms
Requirements:
- Valid BC ECE License (or ECEA if applicable)
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible availability and reliable transportation preferred
- Previous childcare experience is an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
