EQUIPMENT & SHOP SUPERINTENDENT

Position Summary:
Progressive Ventures Construction is seeking an experienced Equipment & Shop Superintendent to lead the maintenance, repair, inspection, and operational readiness of our fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and support assets. Reporting to the Civil Construction Manager, this position is responsible for planning and directing shop operations, supervising mechanics and support personnel, coordinating vendors, and ensuring equipment is available to meet project schedules while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day shop and fleet maintenance operations.
- Supervise mechanics, apprentices, service technicians, and shop personnel.
- Plan and prioritize preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and equipment changeovers.
- Coordinate equipment deployment and availability to support construction operations.
- Manage equipment downtime, troubleshoot recurring mechanical issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with Company HSE policies, WorkSafeBC requirements, CVSE regulations, and manufacturer maintenance standards.
- Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, repair records, service histories, and equipment documentation.
- Assist with equipment procurement, commissioning, and lifecycle planning.
- Prepare and manage shop operating budgets, repair costs, and maintenance forecasts.
- Support project teams by providing equipment planning, technical advice, and fleet utilization recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment.
