Position Summary:
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Team Leader is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and overseeing the day to day activities of the program. Participating in program development, policies and procedure development, program evaluations and budget preparation. Provides support, guidance and mentoring staff.
Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience:
- · Diploma in human/ social services, management or related field.
- · Three (3) years recent related experience including one (1) year supervisory or administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Strong, demonstrated knowledge and experience in supporting individuals with complex challenging behaviours with proven methods and effective strategies.
- Strong demonstrated knowledge of supporting individuals to achieve social and emotional goals and objectives while encouraging independence
- Non-violent crisis intervention or Mandt training is considered an asset
- Augmentative Communication & Behavioural Supports Training is considered an asset
- Professional Working Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Class 4 Unrestricted or Restricted Driver’s License required with a positive Drivers Abstract
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Basic computer skills (Web based applications, e-mails)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plans and develops programs as scheduling based as well on the departmental needs, in collaboration with the Program Manager.
· Coordinates the day to day operations of assigned programs including participant intake, support, activities, goal setting, personal care and discharge.
· Complies with all Policies and Procedures as well as Health & Safety guidelines, CARF and licensing standards and all applicable funder requirements.
· Reports and submits all critical incidents and/or medication errors to the Program Manager with recommendations for change as needed. Role models, teaches and guides staff in medication management.
· Works in collaboration with Program Manager to support staff in meeting payroll deadlines, monitors petty cash, and requisitions program supplies as needed.
· Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.
· Role models, mentors, teaches and supports staff to integrate Person Centered Thinking into their daily practice.
· Oversees program staff by performing duties such as assigning work, providing feedback on performance, and conducting performance evaluations in conjunction with the Program Manager.
· Recruits, supports, trains and evaluates volunteers and practicum students.
· Participates in the recruitment and selection of program staff by performing duties such as screening applicants, participating on interview panels, and making hiring recommendations.
· Collaborates with individuals’ caregivers and natural support network by sharing information and ensuring consistency of support. Liaisons with care givers and service delivery partners.
· Attends and actively participates in community groups and events. Builds collaborative relationships with community partners and services.
· Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
· Provides crossover coverage for Community Housing and Community Inclusion during absences and/or vacancies as well as participates in an after-hours on-call rotation (additional compensation based on the Collective Agreement).
· Completes all training as required.
· Performs other related duties as required.
General:
- Wage rate as per BCGEU Collective Agreement, Grid Level 14 -starting at $33.77 per hour.
- This position is eligible for Extended Health & Dental benefits

- This position reports to the Manager.
