Job Overview
BOKU is a high-volume Japanese restaurant serving ramen, sushi, and hot kitchen items. We are currently hiring 3 part-time kitchen staff to support our team during the busy season.
This position is only suitable for candidates with relevant kitchen training and/or experience. Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements below.
Position Details
- Part-time / Temporary
- 2–4 shifts per week
- Must be available evenings and weekends
- Minimum wage + tips
Key Responsibilities
- Perform food preparation and basic cooking tasks with minimal supervision
- Support both sushi and hot kitchen stations when required
- Maintain strict cleanliness and organization standards
- Follow all food safety and kitchen procedures consistently
Minimum Requirements (Must Meet All)
- Culinary-related education OR at least 6 months of kitchen experience
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong sense of cleanliness and organization
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Legally eligible to work in Ontario (must be able to start immediately)
Preferred (Strong Advantage)
- Experience in a Japanese restaurant (sushi, ramen, or hot kitchen)
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen prep
- Ability to work across multiple stations
Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour
