We are a growing low-voltage construction company specializing in structured cabling, security systems, access control, surveillance, networking, and related infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced Construction Controller / Senior Bookkeeper to oversee our accounting department and support the financial management of our construction operations.
Requirements
· Minimum 3 years of construction accounting experience (required)
· Advanced experience with QuickBooks (required)
· Strong knowledge of construction job costing and project accounting
· Experience developing and managing inventory systems for construction materials
· Ability to prepare project cost analyses and construction progress reports
· Thorough knowledge of payroll, payroll remittances, HST/GST filings, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and month-end/year-end financial reporting
· Strong Microsoft Excel skills
· Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
· Ability to work independently and take ownership of the accounting function
Responsibilities
· Manage all day-to-day accounting operations
· Process payroll and statutory remittances
· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
· Prepare customer invoices and oversee collections
· Prepare HST/GST returns and other government remittances
· Maintain accurate financial records and the general ledger
· Perform job costing and prepare project financial reports
· Develop and maintain inventory control systems
· Produce construction progress reports for management
· Assist with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning
· Coordinate with external accountants for year-end reporting and audits
