Title: Journeyman Pipefitter
Job Summary:
Rozen Steelworks specializes in the fabrication of pressure piping, power piping, and structural steel. We have just opened our second shop and are taking on even more project work as we continue to grow. We are currently looking for a dedicated Journeyman Pipefitter to join the Rozen Steelworks team.
Responsibilities:
- Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings and specifications to determine layout requirements;
- Installing supports, valves, piping and control systems;
- Using hand tools or machines to cut openings for pipe in walls, floors, and ceilings;
- Measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipe, as required;
- Welding, brazing, cementing, soldering and threading joints to join pipes and fabrication sections of piping systems;
- Testing systems for leaks using testing equipment;
- Monitor equipment, parts and tools for hazards, potential safety issues or down time;
- Complete scheduled work in cooperation with the Foreman;
- Inform the Foreman in case of any discrepancies in material, damage to or loss of equipment;
- Maintain a tidy, clean and safe work area;
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment at all times;
- Other duties as required.
- Requirements:
- Must be a Journeyman Pipefitter from a recognized provincial training authority;
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ previous experience in a fabrication/shop environment;
- Commitment to safety and safe work procedures;
- Self-motivated with an attention to detail;
- Ability to work well in a team environment;
- Complete required WHMIS training;
- Ability to work with little supervision.
Terms of Employment:
- Monday to Friday - 6:00 am to 4:30 pm - 50 hour weeks
- Overtime after 40 hours
- Hourly rate is per Union Collective Agreement
