Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Concrete Finisher/Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves working on various concrete projects, including finishing, formwork, and site preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to operate a variety of tools and equipment. Prior experience in concrete finishing, masonry, or related construction trades is preferred. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in concrete forming, rebar installation, and renovation projects within a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform concrete finishing tasks such as smoothing, troweling, and sealing surfaces to meet project specifications
- Assist with rebar installation and placement according to schematics and blueprints
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans for accurate project execution
- Assist with carpentry tasks related to concrete forms and framing structures
- Conduct restoration and renovation work as needed on existing structures
- Handle heavy lifting and material movement across job sites while adhering to safety protocols
- Apply caulking and other sealing techniques for waterproofing or finishing touches
- Support flooring installation and masonry tasks as required
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety standards are followed during operations
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction tools and equipment operation
- Experience with rebar installation, concrete forming, and finishing techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery used in construction sites
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately
- Knowledge of masonry, flooring installation, welding, caulking, and restoration processes is a plus
- Excavation and base preparation, Hardscape, pavers, retaining walls, pool installation as asset
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy lifting, heavy equipment operation, and site hazards
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining proper technique
- Good communication skills for teamwork and understanding project requirements
- Prior experience in construction or renovation projects is desirable but not mandatory
