Capital Paving is looking to hire an Asphalt Paving Superintendent to join our Construction and Asphalt Operations Team for the upcoming 2026 construction season.

Positions Available: One (1) Full Time
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing paving operations, leading crews, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, planning, and coordination across multiple teams and departments.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Providing daily leadership and direction to Foremen and paving crews, including setting goals, work plans, and production targets

Holding crews accountable for safety, quality, and performance, while enforcing company policies and standards

Leading by example to promote a professional and positive work environment

Coaching and developing Foremen and crew members in leadership, quality control, and team management

Creating and communicating detailed paving plans aligned with project scope, schedule, and quality requirements

Ensuring site readiness by reviewing grading, iron adjustments, concrete work, and milling/profiling

Monitoring production and adjusting operations to meet targets and project expectations

Maintaining quality control standards and addressing deficiencies as they arise

Managing equipment scheduling and coordinating with the Fleet Manager to optimize resources and minimize rental equipment usage.

Ensuring all equipment is properly maintained, fueled, and operating efficiently

Overseeing resource allocation, including materials and tools required for paving operations

Collaborating with Asphalt Operations Manager, Dispatch, and other departments to align schedules and resources

Supervising trucking logistics, including truck quantity, spacing, and performance, and providing feedback for improvements

Maintaining clear and consistent communication with Foremen, project teams, and management on progress and issues

Ensuring completion and submission of all safety documentation, including inspections, JHAs, and TBTs

Overseeing accurate and timely submission of timesheets, DTRs, and site documentation

Identifying operational issues and implementing solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and safety

Driving continuous improvement through training, process evaluation, and team development
Requirements:

Proven experience in asphalt paving operations, with a strong technical understanding of paving processes and equipment

Demonstrated leadership experience managing crews and Foremen

Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations within road construction

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset

Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required
Employment Package:

Salary $100,000 to $130,000/year
