BGC Wolf Creek is seeking a Casual Summer Program Assistant for our Ponoka, Lacombe, Blackfalds and Rimbey locations. This position will start as soon as possible and continue for the duration of our summer camp (June 29th - August 21st, 2026). There is also possibility of continuing the position into the fall.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children and dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 16 years of age
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification
- Previous experience working with children is preferred
- Minimum Level 1 Childcare Certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months through online course)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Engage with children in a supportive and nurturing manner
- Supervise and interact with children during both in-program activities and field trips, such as swimming, bowling, laser tag, etc.,
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of facilities
- Demonstrate a proactive, appropriate and positive approach to behaviour management issues and conflict resolution situations.
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
Schedule
- Summer Camp June 29th - August 21st, 2026
- As Needed
- Monday to Friday
- Hours will range from 8:00AM-6:00PM
Renumeration
Government top up (in addition to hourly rate) for those that have Level 1-3 Child Care Certification.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.50 per hour
