The Opportunity
The Executive Director is responsible for the management of Arrow and Slocan Lakes Community Services (ASLCS) and Halcyon Assisted Living Society (HALS), reporting directly to the Board of Directors. Each Society has its own set of by-laws, mandate and scope of practice. This role carries full responsibility for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of the organization- overseeing all programs, services, staff, and operations across the entire service region.
The successful candidate will lead organizational development, cultivate community partnerships, and engage stakeholders at every level. They will ensure financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and sound governance practices while championing the missions and values of both societies and their internal and external activities. Working collaboratively with the Board, the Executive Director will set strategic priorities and advance the vision of both societies.
Key Responsibilities
To supervise and manage the affairs of both societies in accordance with community needs, the agencies’ various contractual obligations, and the Board of Directors’ policy governance.

Qualifications & Experience
Required
- A minimum of 5 years of senior leadership or executive management experience, preferably in the nonprofit or community services sector
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, financial management, and organizational development
- Proven track record in fundraising, grant management, and stakeholder engagement
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit governance, regulatory compliance, and board relations
- Experience managing diverse teams and multi-program service delivery
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., social work, public administration, business administration, community development) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid BC driver's licence and willingness to travel within the service region
Preferred
- Experience working in rural or remote communities in British Columbia
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultural safety and reconciliation practices
- Familiarity with BC community social services sector, relevant legislation, and funding frameworks
- Experience with union environments and collective agreement administration
- Knowledge of housing, mental health, employment, and family services programming
- Master’s degree in business administration, social work, community development or related human service discipline.
Pay: $85,000.00-$111,000.00 per year
