Labourer
Reports To: Foreman
Summary
The Labourer will be required to perform tasks involving physical labor at projects, and will be required to operate a variety of hand and power tools. Responsibilities will include the cleaning and preparation of work-sites per job requirements.
Job Duties
- General labour and operator duties including but not limited to snow clearing, dewatering, sweeping, recycling, cleaning of work area etc
- Load, unload and transport construction materials using forklift/telehandler
- Experience with small tools and manual handling while working at heights
- Site and work area housekeeping
- Complete daily paperwork and participate in toolbox talks
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program.
- Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
Work Conditions
- Job requires ability to work with tools and materials.
- Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs for 50 feet is required.
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. hard-hat, safety boots, etc.)
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
- Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
- Noise level is generally loud.
- Able to work on uneven ground
- Excellent stamina is required.
- Hazards associated with the construction industry.

- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
