Job Overview
As a real estate conveyancer, you will be responsible for handling residential and commercial real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, mortgages, and refinancing. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and experience working with Alberta Land Titles.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process real estate transactions (residential and commercial) from start to finish, including purchase, sale, mortgage, and refinance files.
- Draft and review transfer documents, trust letters, closing documents, and title registrations in compliance with Alberta’s real estate and land title requirements.
- Conduct title searches and perform other due diligence.
- Communicate and coordinate with clients, realtors, mortgage brokers, lenders, and other law firms to facilitate smooth transactions.
- Prepare and manage payout statements, mortgage discharges, and financial adjustments for closing.
- Submit and manage registrations with Alberta’s online land titles system (SPIN2, ALTO).
- Maintain accurate and organized digital and physical file records.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Real Estate Conveyancer in Alberta (accreditation preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in conveyancing software
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with trust accounting is an asset.
