Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Physiotherapy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting licensed physiotherapists in delivering high-quality patient care within a hospital or clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in patient rehabilitation and possess relevant healthcare experience. This position offers an opportunity to develop clinical skills and contribute to patient recovery processes, ensuring effective and compassionate care for diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Assist physiotherapists in implementing treatment plans and therapy sessions for patients.
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
- Support patients during exercises, ensuring proper technique and safety measures are followed.
- Monitor patient progress and report any concerns or changes to the supervising physiotherapist.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and therapy schedules.
- Provide basic patient care, including assisting with mobility, transfers, and positioning as directed.
- Educate patients on home exercises and post-treatment care instructions.
- Adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures at all times.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a hospital or acute care setting is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy and patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver compassionate patient care with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Certification or training related to healthcare assistance is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and patient needs; commitment to providing quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $17.85-$32.98 per hour
