Nurse Practitioner Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Family Medicine practice to work along side Family Physician to cover her practice demands. We are looking for a part time position about 2 days per week. We provide flexibility with the choice of days and hours. We are a great team of 4 Family Physicians with amazing supportive staff. So there is a lot of support available on site.
The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and managing patient health issues in Family medicine clinic setting. Your expertise will contribute to improving patient outcomes and enhancing the overall quality of care.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, including physical examinations and health histories.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and preferences.
- Provide ongoing management of chronic conditions, including pain management and dementia care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care across various settings.
- Utilize electronic health record system. We use PS suite Telus Health.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
- Perform laboratory tests and interpret results to guide clinical decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards in documentation and communication.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner certification and state licensure
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (PS suite) is not mandatory but highly desirable.

Pay: $65.00-$80.00 per hour
