Position Summary
DelGate Logistics Ltd. is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Furniture Delivery Driver to join our growing Kelowna operations. Based out of our West Kelowna warehouse, you will safely operate a 3-ton box truck while delivering furniture and large household items to residential and commercial customers throughout Kelowna and surrounding communities.
The ideal candidate has previous furniture delivery or box truck driving experience, enjoys providing excellent customer service, and is comfortable performing physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 3-ton box truck in accordance with provincial traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Deliver furniture and large household items to residential and commercial customers.
- Perform threshold, room-of-choice, and occasional white glove deliveries.
- Load, unload, move, and assemble furniture when required while preventing product damage.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns.
- Secure cargo using appropriate equipment and safe loading practices.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and proof of delivery records.
- Provide courteous, professional, and customer-focused service at every delivery.
- Work collaboratively with delivery assistants, dispatch, warehouse staff, and operations teams.
- Follow all WorkSafeBC occupational health and safety requirements and company policies.
Skills & Competencies
- Experience safely moving furniture or other large, bulky items using proper lifting and handling techniques.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform repetitive lifting, carrying, bending, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a professional and courteous attitude.
- Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with customers, dispatchers, warehouse staff, and delivery partners.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow delivery instructions, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Dependable, punctual, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple delivery stops.
- Previous warehouse or logistics experience is an asset.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is considered an asset.
Qualifications
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
- Clean driver's abstract (required upon request).
- Minimum one (1) year of experience operating a 3-ton or 5-ton box truck.
- Previous experience in furniture delivery, appliance delivery, moving services, or final-mile delivery is considered a strong asset.
- Physically capable of safely lifting, carrying, pushing, and maneuvering furniture weighing up to 50 lbs independently, and heavier items with team assistance and appropriate lifting equipment.
- Comfortable using GPS navigation, smartphones, or electronic devices for route management and proof of delivery.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
