Willis College is actively seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join the Ottawa campus team as an Instructor for our Personal Support Worker (PSW) program.
Primary Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide students with the knowledge and skills required for employment as a Personal Support Worker in continuing care and home settings. As an integral member of the health team, you will facilitate and evaluate student learning in both theoretical and lab settings by utilizing a variety of instructional strategies, techniques, and delivery methods to meet diverse learning styles.
Administrative Duties:
· Paperwork related to graduating students, medicals, and vulnerable sector checks
· Phone calls to facilities and students
· Emailing and responding to student inquiries as required
· Tutoring students
· Reviewing and proctoring exams
· Assisting with student placements at facilities
· Visiting facilities on an as-needed basis
· Other duties as required
Schedule:
This position involves hybrid teaching. Theory components are taught online, and lab components are delivered in-person at the Ottawa campus. The position requires on-campus presence for both theory and labs. Classes and labs are Monday and Tuesday 8am – 4:30pm and Wednesdays 8am – noon,
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with current registration and no practice restrictions with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and have a minimum of 5 years of practical experience working with PSWs. Previous teaching experience is an asset. Demonstrated leadership skills including supervision, motivation, and facilitation are preferred. Superior communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
Compensation Package:
· Hourly rate based on professional and adult teaching experience, education, and certifications

Important Requirements:
· CNO (College of Nurses of Ontario) renewal form paid and up to date
· Canadian Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification
· Up-to-date immunization records
· Two letters of reference
· Vulnerable Sector Police Check
