About the Role
Hiring Industrial Sewing Machine Operators for our pillow and duvet production line. This is high-volume, production-based sewing work, not garment construction, closing and finishing filled bedding products to spec.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate overlock/serger machines as the primary tool for closing pillow ticks, comforter/duvet openings, and side seams after filling
- Operate single-needle and double-needle machines for straight-line seaming, hemming, and reinforcement stitching
- Guide filled product through the machine accurately and consistently at production speed
- Weigh and visually inspect finished pillows/duvets against quality specs before they move to packaging
- Flag stitching defects, tension issues, or machine malfunctions immediately
- Perform basic machine maintenance: threading, needle/bobbin changes, tension adjustment, cleaning
- Follow warehouse safety procedures; maintain a clean, organized station
- Meet daily production quotas in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Requirements
- +1 year of proven experience operating industrial sewing machines overlock/serger required, single-needle and double-needle strongly preferred
- Juki machine experience preferred (primary brand on the floor)
- Experience in home textiles/bedding (pillows, duvets, comforters, linens) is a strong asset over general garment experience
- Comfortable in a warehouse/manufacturing environment, standing/sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 30–35 lbs
- Must pass a hands-on sewing skills assessment
- English communication skills; reliable and punctual
Machines & Equipment to be used
- Single-needle lockstitch (e.g., Juki DDL-8700, DDL-5550N, or similar) — straight stitching, topstitching, seaming
- Double-needle lockstitch (e.g., Juki LH-3528A/3568A series) — parallel double-row stitching for hems, waistbands, reinforced seams
- Overlock/serger machines (e.g., Juki MO-6714/MO-6716 series, 3–5 thread) — edge finishing, seaming stretch or woven fabrics, preventing fray
- Juki industrial machines generally — candidates should be comfortable threading, adjusting tension, changing needles/bobbins, and basic troubleshooting across Juki-brand equipment specifically, as it's the primary brand on the floor
