Join the team of a well established and reputable construction cost management and engineering firm serving in British Columbia for last 23 years.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Business development and client management
- Oversee and co-ordinate office administrative procedures and policies
- Test and carry out new procedures
- Make sure deadlines are met and procedures are followed
- Advise staff, stakeholders and partners on office procedures
- Help prepare the operating budget and maintain inventory and budgetary controls
- Collect data and prepare reports
- Provide administrative support—such as typing forms and responding to general inquiries
- Organize office space
Administrative officer to co-ordinate and act as the main contact for travel accommodations, equipment, supplies, forms, parking, maintenance and security services for the office.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute business development and client management procedures
- Manage monthly financial close and provide closed financial statements to senior team.
- Work with Managing Director to develop quarterly, annual, and long-term financial plans and forecasts and report them to the President
- Responsible for contract management, invoicing, and collections operations.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Develop and manage monthly budgets with senior leaders. Report on variances from the established budget and the reasons for those variances.
- Coordinate with outside accountants, auditors, and bankers, as needed.
- Oversee core legal, tax, and other responsibilities, working with our contracted service providers, when necessary.
Education, Training and Skills
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized Canadian university or college in business administration, accounting, or Diploma in business technology from an institute such as BCIT or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Experience in a senior clerical or executive secretarial/management position related to office administration
- Experience with databases and office software, such as the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with client management software
Accounting and financial skills are required. Class 5 Driving licence required. Knowledge and experience working in an architectural, general contracting, engineering or quantity surveying firm would be an asset.

Pay: $60,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
