Reliance Ventures is a privately owned and fast-growing trucking company based in Fort St. John, BC and Grande Prairie, AB. We are currently seeking a Full Time Shop Foreman – Truck & Transport Mechanic to join our growing team in Grande Prairie, AB. The successful candidate will supervise mechanics, coordinate workflow, maintain high repair standards, and assist with diagnostics and repairs on commercial trucks and trailers.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with strong mechanical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead a productive team in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Supervise and support shop mechanics
- Schedule and prioritize daily repair and maintenance work
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
- Maintain accurate repair records and communicate with management
- Assist with parts ordering and inventory control
- Conduct quality control inspections on completed work
- Tracking and Updating Inspection documents and expiries for fleet
- Train and mentor team members on new techniques or equipment operation to promote continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all staff.
Skills
- Journeyman Truck & Transport Mechanic certification (Red Seal preferred)
- 5+ years of heavy-duty truck repair experience
- Previous supervisory or foreman experience considered an asset
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 an asset)
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
