Front Desk Attendant
Position Summary
The Front Desk Attendant is responsible for providing professional, friendly, and efficient service to hotel guests throughout their stay. The Front Desk Attendant serves as the first point of contact for guests and plays an important role in creating a positive and welcoming hotel experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests upon arrival and provide courteous and professional service.
- Process guest check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently.
- Handle reservations, room assignments, cancellations, modifications, and payments.
- Answer telephone calls, emails, and guest inquiries in a professional manner.
- Provide guests with information regarding hotel services, amenities, local attractions, restaurants, and transportation.
- Respond to guest requests, questions, and concerns promptly and courteously.
- Address guest complaints professionally and involve management when necessary.
- Communicate with housekeeping regarding room availability, cleanliness, and maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff regarding room repairs and guest maintenance requests.
- Maintain accurate guest information and ensure all front desk records are properly completed.
- Process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and lobby area.
- Follow hotel policies, procedures, safety standards, and security practices.
- Monitor the lobby and front desk area and report any unusual or safety-related concerns to management.
- Assist with other hotel duties as required to support daily operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous hotel, hospitality, or customer service experience is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult situations.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn hotel reservation and payment systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts when required.
- Additional languages are considered an asset.
Work Environment
This position involves regular interaction with guests and hotel staff in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The successful candidate should be comfortable standing for extended periods, assisting guests with their needs, and managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
