Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Finish Carpenter/Helper to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with various carpentry and finishing tasks on residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the construction industry. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in multiple facets of carpentry and related trades, contributing to high-quality building finishes.
Responsibilities
- Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction plans
- Support the installation of interior trim, flooring, and other finish carpentry elements
- Operate hand tools, power tools, read a measuring tape and other necessary machinery safely and effectively
- Engage in heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks to meet project deadlines
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
Skills
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes is a plus
- Familiarity with finish carpentry and flooring installation is desirable
- Handyman experience or general construction background preferred
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical labor consistently throughout the workday
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in carpentry and related trades
