Diesel Mechanic*2yr +experience
We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Diesel Mechanic to join eagle shunt fleet team! As apart of our team, you'll work under the guidance of experienced mechanics to develop your skills in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, as well as performing routine maintenance & running repairs on freightliner Cascadia day cabs, capacity/auto yard spotter trucks, & trailer work aswell
Responsibilities:
- Perform Vehicle Inspection & Repair*: Inspect diesel engines for defects or malfunctioning and diagnose problems with the help of computerized diagnostic equipment
- basic knowledge & understanding of fuel & hydraulic systems & diagnostic repair of electrical system
- Routine Maintenance: Perform routine tasks, such as changing oil and filters, and repairing or replacing faulty components outside onsite at customer yard locations
- Testing and Optimization: Test vehicles to ensure efficient performance after repairs and optimize power output and fuel efficiency
- Safety and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace & service van adhering to safety protocols and best practices
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of mechanical concepts and a strong willingness to learn
- Basic understanding of the electrical system & able to diagnose & repair correctly
- Valid driver's license and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- willing to go on service calls last minute if needed
- proper time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a mechanical heavy truck setting
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment for diesel engines ¹ ² ³
