Position Overview:
The Vertical Farm Technician is responsible for supporting the daily operations of a controlled - environment agriculture facility. This role involves planting, monitoring, harvesting, and packaging crops grown in vertical farming systems while ensuring optimal plant health, productivity, and food safety standards. The technician works with hydroponic or aeroponic systems environmental controls, grow lighting, and farm management soft wear to maintain efficient crop production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain hydroponic/aeroponic growing systems.
- Seed, transplant, harvest, and package crops.
- Track plant growth, nutrient levels, and environmental conditions.
- Operate and maintain farm equipment and lighting systems
- Follow food safety and quality-control procedures.
- Ensure cleaning, sanitation, and inventory management.
- Record production data and report issues to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High-school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in agriculture, horticulture, greenhouse operations, or food production is an assest.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs)
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and monitoring systems.
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
