About the Role
Absolute Contracting is looking for an Estimator to join our preconstruction team. You'll prepare cost estimates across all types and scales of construction, working closely with our Construction Manager and design consultants from early project inception through to securing head contracts.

Core Responsibilities:
- Study architectural and engineering drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Prepare Take-Off Lists identifying materials and quantities needed
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and owners during estimating
- Manage tendering and pricing for subcontractor packages, including issuing RFQs
- Review addenda and assess cost impacts of design changes
- Prepare Savings Suggestions to help clients meet budget constraints
- Prepare preliminary and final estimates to secure head contracts
- Review preconstruction documents with Project Managers and the Construction Superintendent for project handover
- Assist with project start-up packages and large-scale material procurement
- Assist with Cash Flow Forecasts and Change Orders over $5,000
- Review Project Manager monthly reporting and financial performance across the portfolio

What You'll Bring
Required
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or related field
- 3–5 years of construction industry experience, ideally in estimating
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building code
- Analytical thinking and comfort working accurately with figures
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred
- Experience across both estimating and project delivery functions
- Working knowledge of MS Office and project management software
- Ability to apply basic engineering/problem-solving principles to construction challenges

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
