Job Overview
Palco Supply is hiring a full-time Forklift Mechanic to service and maintain our fleet of rental forklifts and sales-stock equipment.
This hybrid role combines work at our Mission shop with mobile service calls. The technician will primarily maintain Palco Supply's own equipment fleet and prepare machines for rental, delivery and sale.
What You Will Do
· Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems.
· Service electric, propane and internal-combustion forklifts.
· Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections and pre-delivery inspections.
· Complete shop repairs and mobile field-service work.
· Repair brakes, steering systems, engines, motors, hydraulic cylinders, wiring, masts, chains, batteries and chargers.
· Identify and order parts, test repaired equipment and complete service records.
· Keep tools, service vehicles and work areas organized.
What We Are Looking For
· Forklift, automotive, truck, heavy-equipment or industrial mechanical experience.
· Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
· Ability to read schematics, service manuals and technical procedures.
· Experience with hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment.
· Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned jobs.
· Valid driver's licence; reliable, safety-conscious and proud of your workmanship.
Forklift-specific experience is preferred, but candidates with strong transferable mechanical experience are encouraged to apply. Trade certification, welding experience and forklift operator certification are assets.
Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
