Required Credentials:
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (specific to child care settings)
- Alberta Child Care Certification – Level 2/3
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (dated within 6 months of hire)
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Montessori training or a strong interest in Montessori philosophy (preferred)
- Experience working with preschool-aged children
- Strong observation, communication, and classroom management skills
- A warm, patient, and professional approach to working with children and families
Required Skills and Responsibilities:
- Experience working with young children in a licensed child care setting
- Ability to lead daily classroom routines and maintain a calm, nurturing learning environment
- Support children’s social-emotional development, independence, and positive behavior
- Provide daily care routines, including meals, hygiene, and rest, with respect and consistency
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, child-centered programming
- Observe and document children’s learning to support individualized planning
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with licensing standards
- Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and the Director
- Participate in staff meetings and collaborate as part of a supportive team
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and lift up to 25 lbs as part of daily routines and caregiving tasks
