Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience working on various types of machinery and equipment. Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic assessments using schematics, electrical testing, and mechanical inspection tools
- Conduct repairs on a variety of vehicles and machinery, including cars, trucks, heavy equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools to complete repair.
- Follow safety protocols during all repair and maintenance activities to ensure a safe working environment
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake repairs, engine diagnostics, and system inspections
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and timelines to ensure high-quality customer service
- Maintain detailed records of services performed and parts used for each vehicle or piece of equipmentRequirements
- Proven experience in automotive repair or as a mechanic; dealership experience is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including electrical, hydraulic, and engine components
- Experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery is a plus
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and industrial machinery safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic software for troubleshooting complex issues
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues accurately
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs
- Valid driver’s license preferred for operating company vehicles or heavy equipment on-site
