Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Transfer Station Excavator Operator to join our construction and waste management team. This full-time position TUESDAY -SATURDAY that involves operating heavy equipment at our transfer station, ensuring efficient handling of materials and maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with excavators and other heavy machinery, along with a strong understanding of waste streams and heavy equipment operation.
Duties
- Operate excavators, loaders, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Manage material movement within transfer stations, including loading and unloading waste or construction materials
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate operations and meet diversion rates
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and operational logs
Requirements
- Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy machinery in a construction or waste management setting
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation
- Prior experience working at a transfer station is preferred
- Ability to work in outdoor environments under various weather conditions
- Relevant certifications or training in heavy equipment operation is advantageous
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
