Job Overview:
We are seeking a Mechanic and Mechanic Helper to join our team. As a mechanic you will have to be able to complete major repairs and have a full understanding of trailers and semi trucks. As a Mechanic Helper, you will assist our skilled mechanics in performing various tasks to maintain and repair vehicles and equipment.
Duties and possible duties:
- Repairing trucks and trailers, changing valves, fixing air leaks, engine work etc
- Assisting with repairs and preventive maintenance on trucks, trailers, & yard equipment
- Supporting mechanics as needed
- Cleaning and maintaining shop equipment and tools
- Ensuring the shop is clean for a safe working environment
- Checking batteries and fluid levels in equipment, replacing or replenishing as necessary
- Performing facility maintenance and minor maintenance tasks
- Other duties as assigned
- Retrieve and deliver parts as needed
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in an automotive or mechanical field is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and components
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
