Home Care Worker for 50+ aged Woman with Multiple Sclerosis
Overview
We are seeking 1 compassionate and dedicated Home Care Worker to provide essential support to individual in their rural home. This role is ideal for those passionate about helping others, especially individuals with chronic illness. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a clients life by delivering personalized care and assistance in a comfortable home environment.
Duties
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide patient care and monitor health status, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals
- Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding if necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Assist with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when required
- Support client with autoimmune symptoms and related health concerns
- Follow care plans developed by healthcare providers and document care activities accurately
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or home care is preferred
- Knowledge of senior care and working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely and effectively
- Strong care giving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
- Basic knowledge of medication administration and patient safety protocols
- Ability to work independently while following detailed care plans
- Valid driver’s license will be required for travel to appointments, including rural towns, highway and occasional city driving
- This position will gradually become near full time as current care giver wishes to retire
- Certification in care giving or related fields is a plus but not mandatory. We value dedicated caregivers committed to delivering respectful, professional support in a dog and cat friendly home setting.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
