Primary Purpose of Position:
Vic Priestly Contracting Ltd. (VPCL) is looking for a skilled and experienced 310T Truck & Trailer Mechanic to become a key part of our dedicated maintenance team. Based in our fully equipped Truck & Trailer Mechanic Shop, you will be responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on diesel-powered tractors and semi-trailers. Job Duties
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
- Complete preventative, predictive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational.
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic issues using inspections, road testing, and diagnostic tools, and complete repairs to manufacturer and government standards.
- Interpret work orders, technical manuals, and repair procedures to accurately complete assigned tasks.
- Install, modify, and repair vehicle components and additional equipment as required.
- Conduct inspections and “quick-checks” to identify additional repair needs or potential future issues and communicate findings to management.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist with monitoring parts inventory and ordering replacement equipment, parts, and supplies as needed.
- Accurately complete work orders, maintenance reports, and time records electronically or on paper.
- Test repaired equipment to verify proper performance and compliance with safety and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to occupational health and safety regulations.
- Perform other related mechanical duties as required.
