About the Job
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate is responsible for the operations including training technicians in a union environment, quality control of service, Health and Safety, MTO and MOE requirements, fleet allocation, truck maintenance issues, and documenting process and procedures. Salary expectations for this position is between $60,000-$65,000 per year based on qualifications and experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supervising the day-to-day activities of the operations at the Toronto plant location.
- Supervising a team of employees in a union environment and adhere to the policies and procedures.
- Work closely with all levels to develop and enforce division quality, health and safety and productivity goals while ensuring all targets are met and maintained.
- Health and safety training and conduct quarterly inspections addressing issues and enforcing safety requirements.
- Human resources functions including hiring, responding to disciplinary issues, working and maintaining relations with union and HR, bi-weekly payroll through auditing and approving technician hours worked, technician’s vacation, payroll and bonuses.
- Ensures truck routes are progressing and managed efficiently on a daily basis through Customer Relations Management software. Liaisons with logistics team and addresses issues as required.
- Review driver board to ensure volumes are appropriate to vehicles assigned to routes, routes are in progress, and case files are actioned in a timely manner
- Dealing with phone calls and emergencies during supervisor shift.
- Ensure quality standards through conducting site and worker inspections and providing additional training as required.
Monitor driver logbooks, equipment availability and inventory to ensure the technicians have the tools required.

Here’s What You Need
- Minimum High School graduation or equivalent plus specialized courses equivalent to a one-year diploma or an equivalent level of education.
- Greater than three years but less than or equal to four years of customer service and supervisory experience .
A valid G Class Ontario License.
Superior levels of customer service, interpersonal and communication skills to promote and foster relationships with colleagues, existing and potential customers, government agencies and industry associates.
