Brunel Commercial Interiors is currently looking for Summer Students. Our facility is located near Glenmore and Blackfoot in SE Calgary. Brunel was established in 1964 and is still a family owned and operated business.
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Summer Student to assist our production team in an architectural millwork shop. This position provides hands-on experience in woodworking, manufacturing, and shop operations while supporting skilled tradespeople in the fabrication of custom architectural millwork products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, assembly, and finishing of millwork components.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
- Help load, unload, and move materials throughout the shop.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with sanding, edging, packaging, and quality control inspections.
- Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and production schedules.
- Support inventory management and material handling activities.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other general shop duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in high school, college, university, or a trades-related program.
- Interest in woodworking, manufacturing, construction, or skilled trades.
- Ability to work safely in a shop environment.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25–50 lbs
- Previous experience with woodworking tools is an asset but not required.
