Yellowhead Community Services Society is a not for profit, integrated health/social service agency with offices located in Clearwater, Barriere, Merritt, Lillooet, and Ashcroft. We are currently seeking a Casual Transit Driver to join our team in Ashcroft.
This system provides transportation services from Lillooet to Kamloops. Additional hours may be available depending on Special Transit Trip requests.
Key Duties:
- Drive transit vehicles to transport passengers on regular fixed routes, door to door service, and Special Transit Trip requests.
- Provide route information to transit passengers and collection of fares.
- Assist elderly passengers and persons with disabilities with loading/unloading, and securement of wheelchairs within established safety procedures.
- Maintain records and makes reports as required.
- Inspect vehicles and performs pre-operation, during operation, and post-operation checks.
- Complete daily routine cleaning as per checklist of interior and exterior of transit vehicles.
Hour of Work:
Shifts will typically take place between the hours of 7:45am to 6:00pm, Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday, providing transportation services between Ashcroft and Clinton. A component of this system takes riders to Kamloops and 100 Mile House. Additional hours may be available depending on Special Transit Trip requests.
Qualifications:
Minimum Grade 12 education is required. Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience operating a commercial vehicle and/or providing passenger transportation services. Any offers of employment will be subject to a clean Criminal Record Check. A Class 1, 2 or Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License and acceptable Commercial Driver’s Abstract.
Compensation:
Rate of pay for this position is dependent on a combination of education and/or experience and ranges from $24.71 to $26.74.
