Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience with commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and possess a strong safety mindset. A valid driver’s license and familiarity with freight handling are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including trucks and vans, to transport goods to designated locations.
- Verify delivery orders and ensure accuracy of shipments before departure.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain signatures upon delivery.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations during transportation.
- Assist with warehouse duties including freight movement, inventory management, and equipment operation as needed.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts, heavy equipment, or other industrial machinery is a plus.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols.
- Basic automotive repair skills are advantageous for vehicle troubleshooting.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and logistics.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and customers.
