We are a community-focused office offering premium eye care along with designer eye wear.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about a career in the optical industry and is looking to start right away. We would like the ideal candidate to grow with us. We are looking for friendly, ambitious and sales-oriented individuals to fill the following position:
Student Optician
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Assist patients with frame selection, styling, fitting, lens selection and measurements
- Enter lab orders and accurate patient information as well as supply correct forms
- Verify prescription eyeglasses and notify patients when eyewear is ready
- Dispense, adjust and repair eyewear
- Admin tasks: scheduling appointments for pickups, fittings and patient services
- Educate patients on proper eyewear use and care of new glasses
- Troubleshoot and problem solve eyewear concerns and issues to ensure patient satisfaction
- Work closely with doctors and team members to ensure patient satisfaction
- Perform regular inventory checks and accounts receivable balances
WHO YOU ARE:
- Extremely organized individual who is a self-starter
- Passionate about helping patients with their eye health
- Strong interpersonal skills and empathetic
- Team player with great communication skills
- Detail-oriented and deadline driven
- Curious and life-long learner
- Past SALES experience is an asset
- 1-2 years of Optical experience is an asset
- Working towards Optician License is an asset
- Great with fast-paced clinic schedules
- Strong computer skill are a must, with good typing skills and a proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Social Media ie. Instagram, Facebook are an asset.
- Bilingual, especially Spanish is an asset
Hours will be 4-5 days per week, including Saturdays.
