Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, punctual, reliable, and customer-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all clothing, linens, towels, etc. are laundered to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. You will play a crucial role in maintaining excellent customer service and the store's cleanness contributing to an exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Start work early in the day, or, work late processing laundry.
- Act in a reliable manner to open and/or close the facility independently.
- Operate washing machines and dryers efficiently to launder clothing, linens, towels, etc.
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and store laundry items according to established procedures.
- Understand our established process, follow instruction, and be diligent to avoid mistakes.
- Inspect items for stains or damage before laundering and report any issues to management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while handling cleaning chemicals and operating machinery.
- Greet and welcome customers.
- Take customer orders accurately and record them for processing.
- Proactively offer support to self-serve clients, and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with other staff and coworkers to promote a positive work environment.
- Follow and enforce all policies regarding.
- Actively clean and tidy the facilities throughout the day.
Skills
- MUST be Available 6 of 8 weekend days (Saturday & Sunday) in a month and 2 of the 4 Fridays a month.
- Ability and availability to work a shift starting at 8 am (to open) on some days and ending at 10 pm (to close) on other days.
- Ability to stand and work on feet during the work shift.
- Ability to fold 20-25 pounds of laundry per hour.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to lift safely items weighing 35 lbs. or 15 kg.
- A commitment to cleanliness and quality.
- Previous customer service experience (2-4 years).
- Understanding of laundry processes including sorting, washing, drying, and folding.
- Previous experience processing transactions (1-3 years).
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.60 per hour
