Location: Toronto, Mirvish Village

Salary Range: 30.00 to 36.00 per hour
Schedulable Shifts: Yes. Varying.
The Building Operator is responsible for operational, administrative, and technical support and maintenance functions within Mirvish Village facilities or another reasonable location as needed as part of the Engineering team. High quality standards and attention to detail are a must in this role to maintain top level performance of this first class facility.
Responsibilities

Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of residential, office, and commercial facilities;

Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to ‘think on your feet’ and be able to handle emergencies in a safe effective manner;

Strong experience with Building Management Systems;

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in both oral and written English;

Ability to adapt and learn new systems and technologies;
-
Work effectively in both a team environment and periods of minimal supervision;

Knowledge of safe work practices and WHIMIS;
-
Ensuring prompt and thorough response and reporting to system / tenant work requests;
-
Maintain monitoring / tracking of problem areas and follow up on issues;

Help to maximize predictive / preventative maintenance activities that will decrease the need for emergency and corrective maintenance;

Work to increase the reliability and appearance of buildings and their associated systems;

Exposure / knowledge of building systems commissioning and ongoing tuning, adjustment;

Other duties assigned.
Qualifications

Flexibility in schedule availability;
-
3+ years experience with residential/commercial building maintenance and building operations experience;

Knowledge of or certification in building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and lighting;

Interpersonal skills to be able to effectively communicate with tenants, contractors, staff, and guests with professionalism and comfort;

Ability to navigate Microsoft suite including email;
-
Ability to navigate a Building Automated System (BAS).
