Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic team in Ancaster. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse by handling various tasks related to inventory management. This position requires a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Perform daily cycle counts and make inventory adjustments based on the investigation of inventory discrepancies.
- Receive vendor invoices into Syspro and verify incoming loads for accuracy.
- Update move orders to Status 8 in Syspro.
- Ensure inventory is properly organized and stored in designated warehouse locations.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing department to monitor the availability of incoming loads using the Expected Receipts Report, as directed by the Operations Manager.
- Schedule and direct all incoming loads as requested by the Operations Manager.
- Monitor and manage perishable inventory to ensure proper stock rotation and inventory accuracy.
- Assign Plant Products part numbers to incoming materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Mission Statement, Employee Handbook, and established procedures.
- Maintain a current understanding of and comply with all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, Production and Warehouse Procedures.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding Plant Products' business activities and all related information, including confidential information concerning customers, suppliers, and their businesses.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes is an advantage.
- Capability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independenly.
- A positive attitude towards learning new skills and adapting to changing situations.
