Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Class 1 Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight across various destinations. Your expertise in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair will ensure timely deliveries and optimal vehicle performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced logistics operation while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks to transport freight over long and short distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and other critical systems
- Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep trucks in optimal condition
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse teams, and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Operate forklifts or other machinery to assist with freight movement within warehouses or loading areas
Skills
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
- Experience with automotive repair or basic vehicle maintenance techniques
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent communication skills for clear coordination with team members and clients
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
