MedCare Clinics is a multi-specialty medical clinic committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to the communities we serve. Our clinic provides comprehensive services including family medicine, walk-in care, internal medicine, on-site laboratory services, vaccinations, and seasonal flu clinics, supported by a collaborative team of physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. We are currently seeking motivated and dedicated International Medical Graduates (IMGs) to join our team as Clinical Assistants, working under the direct supervision of licensed physicians.
This is an excellent opportunity for IMGs to gain hands-on Canadian clinical experience, develop familiarity with the healthcare system, and work in a supportive, team-based environment.
Role Overview
The Clinical Assistant will support physicians in delivering care to patients with acute and non-urgent medical needs.
Key Responsibilities
Assist physicians with patient care in a walk-in and family practice setting
Conduct patient histories and preliminary assessments for physician review
Perform physical examinations as directed and supervised by a physician
Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR (Accuro)
Assist with ordering and tracking diagnostic tests (labs, imaging) as directed
Support patient flow and clinic efficiency
Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care as guided by the
supervising physician
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated care
Maintain strict compliance with clinic protocols, privacy standards, and Ontario
healthcare regulations
Qualifications
International Medical Graduate (IMG)
Successful completion of MCCQE Part I (QE1) and NAC OSCE or USMLE
equivalent (preferred)
Eligibility to work in Canada
Prior clinical experience (international or Canadian) is an asset
Experience in a clinical assistant or similar supervised role preferred
Familiarity with EMR systems (Accuro preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork
Additional Requirements
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Understanding of scope limitations and supervised practice expectations in Ontario
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
