About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive, technically sound Business Development Specialist to join our growing Industrial Automation business. Reporting directly to the Business Manager, you will act as a vital bridge between our manufacturing partners, our internal account managers, and our customers. Your primary goal is to spark demand, uncover new revenue opportunities, and support the sales team with both hands-on technical product and application knowledge.
Responsibilities:
Business Growth & Market Strategy
- Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities within untapped markets while expanding our share-of-wallet with existing customers.
- Partner closely with top-tier manufacturers to scout leads, evaluate market needs, and align product offerings with local demands
Sales Enablement & Demand Generation:
- Work hand-in-hand with the sales team to target new accounts, pitch technical solutions, and support cross-selling/upselling efforts.
- Create market demand by planning and executing product presentations, lunch-and-learns, technical training, and trade shows.
Technical & Application Support
- Serve as an internal expert providing Level 1 application support.
- Advise customers and sales teams on the selection, compatibility, and implementation of PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, I/O systems, and control components.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Engineering or related industrial technology degree or diploma (e.g., Electrical, Automation, or Mechatronics).
- 2–5 years of success in technical sales, applications engineering, or business development within the industrial automation space.
- Solid working knowledge of modern PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, I/O systems, and control components.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the territory.
- Ability to safely lift and transport industrial demo equipment.
- Highly motivated self-starter with excellent organizational skills, comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present technical products clearly.
- A team player capable of listening, asking the right qualifying questions, and supporting an active sales force.
- Ability to problem-solve with strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to develop and implement sales strategies alongside sales teams and manufacturing partners.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
