Lean Specialist – Construction & Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Lean Specialist to lead continuous improvement initiatives across our construction manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a seasoned operational excellence professional who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments and is passionate about building scalable, efficient, and high-performing operations.
Position Summary
The Lean Specialist will play a key leadership role in driving Lean Manufacturing initiatives, operational improvements, and process optimization throughout the organization. Working closely with operations, production, engineering, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams, this position will focus on improving productivity, reducing waste, strengthening standardization, and supporting the continued growth and modernization of our manufacturing operations.
This individual will act as both a hands-on improvement leader and strategic partner, helping embed a culture of continuous improvement across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead enterprise-level Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production and operational teams
· Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing flow, production efficiency, quality, safety, and material utilization
· Facilitate Kaizen events, root cause analysis, value stream mapping, and cross-functional improvement workshops
· Develop and implement sustainable Lean systems, standard work, visual management practices, and operational controls
· Analyze operational KPIs, production metrics, and workflow data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
· Partner with leadership teams to support operational strategy, capacity planning, and process scalability
· Mentor and coach leaders and employees on Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies
· Support facility optimization initiatives including layout planning, workflow redesign, and material movement strategies
· Drive accountability and continuous improvement culture throughout the manufacturing environment
· Collaborate with engineering, procurement, logistics, and site operations teams to improve integration and operational performance
· Support implementation of new technologies, automation initiatives, and manufacturing best practices
Qualifications & Experience
· Post-secondary education in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
· 7–10 years of progressive experience in Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, or Industrial Engineering roles
· Strong experience within manufacturing, modular construction, prefabrication, industrial production, or construction operations environments
· Demonstrated success leading large-scale process improvement initiatives and cross-functional operational projects
Strong understanding of Lean methodologies including:
· Kaizen
· Standardized Work
· Root Cause Analysis
· Continuous Flow
· Lean Six Sigma certification considered a strong asset
· Excellent leadership, facilitation, and communication skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to translate data into actionable operational improvements
· Comfortable operating in a fast-growing and evolving manufacturing environment

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
