Job Description:
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable carpenter with a solid background in structural and finish carpentry. The ideal candidate should be experienced in framing, back framing, flat work, and finishing carpentry. Our home base is Vernon, but have projects in the Revelstoke area, and the position would require some travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of framing, including layout, wall construction, roof systems, and sheathing
- Execute back framing work to support drywall installation and finish details
- Assist with or perform concrete flat work, including forming sidewalks, patios, driveways, and slabs
- Install windows and doors
- Read and interpret plans
- Collaborate with other trades and team members on job sites
- Assist with project close out tasks and deficiencies
- Ensure all work meets building codes, safety standards, and project specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in carpentry, including framing and back framing
- Experience with concrete flat work is a strong asset
- Ability to read construction plans and use layout tools
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Journeyman ticket required
