Who we are looking for
Position: Immigration Case worker – Canadian Immigration
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end processing of immigration applications, including Study Permits, Visitor Visas, Work Permits, Permanent Residence applications, and Refusal/Reapplication cases.
- Handle refugee-related matters, including preparation and management of claims before the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB).
- Prepare and review Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA) applications and supporting documentation.
- Assist in drafting and responding to Procedural Fairness Letters (PFLs) with well-supported legal and factual submissions.
- Prepare Refugee Appeal Division (RAD) appeal packages, including evidence review, legal research, and submission preparation.
- Draft detailed written counsel submissions, legal arguments, affidavits, and supporting representations for various immigration and refugee matters.
- Review country condition evidence, jurisprudence, and policy updates relevant to refugee and humanitarian applications.
- Support senior consultants and legal representatives in preparing complex refugee, inadmissibility, and appeal cases.
- Conduct comprehensive refusal analysis and develop strategic reapplication or appeal plans where appropriate
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in Canadian immigration case processing.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian immigration programs, including Study Permits, Visitor Visas, Work Permits, Permanent Residence applications, Refugee Claims, PRRA applications, PFL responses, and RAD appeals.
- Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent qualification in Law, Immigration, International Relations, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent understanding of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR), and IRCC policies and procedures.
- Experience preparing legal submissions, counsel submissions, affidavits, statutory declarations, and supporting documentation.
