Job Title: Pilates Instructor
Job Description:
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a passionate and knowledgeable Mat Pilates Instructor to join our dynamic, interdisciplinary team at Curate Health. Our clinic is built on the principles of patient-centered care, environmental sustainability, and innovation in healthcare. We aim to transform the way health clinics are viewed by offering a holistic range of services, spanning medical, rehab, wellness, and fitness, fully integrated with our in-house slow-culture health cafe.
This is an excellent opportunity for an instructor who believes in empowering clients through evidence-based movement, mindful bodyweight mechanics, and collaborative care. Whether guiding a patient transitioning out of physical therapy or leading an intimate small-group mat class, you will play a vital role in our integrated ecosystem. Here's a chance to be a part of a sophisticated wellness space that Toronto has never seen before!
Responsibilities:
- Tailored Mat Programming: Design and deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based Mat Pilates programs tailored to individual client goals, injuries, and fitness levels, utilizing props effectively.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with our interdisciplinary clinical team (Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, and Physicians) to co-manage patient rehab plans and transition clients seamlessly from clinical treatment to functional floor-work movement.
- Class Instruction: Lead premium, small-group mat classes (including our outdoor seasonal movement series) with a focus on form, core stability, and functional biomechanics.
- Space & Vibe Curation: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming studio environment, ensuring all mat and prop equipment is sanitized and meticulously kept between sessions.
- Client Education: Educate clients on somatic awareness, posture, and lifestyle modifications to carry the benefits of their mat practice into their daily lives.
Why Join Our Team:
- True Integrative Care: Work alongside an expert clinical team, gaining exposure to cross-referrals and shared patient care profiles.
- Sustainable & Minimalist Design: Teach in a stunning, low-tox, "quiet luxury" environment designed with future B Corp certification in mind (featuring sustainable materials and wellness-forward air quality).
- Professional Growth: Engage in our monthly educational rounds where doctors, therapists, and movement specialists discuss complex cases, interventions, and functional health topics.
- Wellness Culture: Enjoy a work environment that genuinely values practitioner longevity, featuring a professional exchange of services within the team, staff discounts at our functional beverage cafe, and access to our modern training facilities.
Qualifications:
- Mat Pilates Certification: Certified in Mat Pilates from a recognized, reputable Pilates education body.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of instructing experience, ideally within a clinical rehab, boutique fitness, or wellness collective setting.
- Anatomical Expertise: Strong knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, core stabilization, common musculoskeletal pathologies, and injury rehabilitation protocols.
- Communication Style: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to articulate complex movement patterns with clarity, warmth, and relatability.
- Insurance: Valid Professional Liability Insurance.
- Bonus Points: Additional training in Pre/Post-Natal Pilates, Functional Movement Screening (FMS), Yoga, Tai Chi, or specialized athletic conditioning.
Join Us:
If you are passionate about working in an integrative, patient-centered environment with the desire to bridge the gap between rehab and movement longevity, we'd love to hear from you. Help us build something meaningful, empower bodies, and inspire health in our community!
