Job Summary

Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks to transport freight over short and long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle readiness and safety
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Follow all safety protocols related to freight handling, heavy equipment operation, and driving regulations
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving and freight transportation
- Certification or experience operating forklifts and other heavy equipment
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy loads and performing vehicle inspections
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail for accurate record keeping
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends or overnight routes as needed
