About Alta Psychology
Alta Psychology is a clinical psychology practice based in Sudbury, Ontario. We provide confidential, inclusive, accessible, and bilingual psychological services to adolescents and adults, with a focus on improving access to care in Northern Ontario. Services are offered in person and virtually and include psychotherapy, psychological assessment, consultation, and evidence-informed treatment planning.

About the Position
Alta Psychology is seeking a bilingual Clinical Psychology Intern/Psychometrist to support the growth of accessible psychological services in Northern Ontario. This position is designed for an emerging mental health professional who is interested in developing clinical skills in psychotherapy, psychological assessment, report-writing, consultation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The successful candidate will receive clinical supervision from a registered psychologist and will support both therapy and assessment services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Completing clinical intakes and contributing to individualized, evidence-informed treatment plans for adolescents and adults
- Providing supervised psychotherapy services to improve access to mental health care, with a focus on rural, remote, bilingual, and other underserved populations
- Supporting psychological assessments through file review, clinical interviewing, behavioural observations, standardized measure administration, scoring, interpretation support, and report-writing
- Preparing clear, organized, and clinically relevant documentation, including intake summaries, treatment plans, progress notes, assessment summaries, and draft reports
- Maintaining timely and ethical clinical records in accordance with applicable CPBAO professional standards, privacy legislation, and clinic policies
- Participating in individual supervision, case consultation, and ongoing professional development
- Supporting quality improvement activities, including the development of clinical resources, referral materials, and assessment workflows
- Contributing to a respectful, inclusive, and client-centred practice environment
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Master’s degree in counselling psychology, clinical psychology, or a closely related field preferred
- Eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO)
- Strong proficiency in both French and English, including the ability to provide clinical services and prepare documentation in both languages
- Experience assisting with psychological assessments, including standardized measure administration, scoring, and report-writing
- Experience providing psychotherapy, counselling, or structured clinical support under supervision
- Knowledge of evidence-informed approaches such as CBT, ACT, EFT, DBT-informed interventions, trauma-informed care, and/or other structured treatment modalities
- Strong clinical writing, organization, and communication skills
- Familiarity with adult ADHD, anxiety, mood concerns, trauma-related symptoms, and/or common presenting concerns in adolescent and adult mental health
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, referral sources, supervisors, and other community partners
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, cultural humility, and accessible care
Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required;
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required prior to starting the position;
- Professional liability insurance may be required, depending on the candidate’s registration status and scope of duties;
- Candidates must be able to participate in regular clinical supervision;
- Candidates must practise within their training, competence, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Preferred Assets
The following would be considered assets:
- Previous experience in a psychological practice, hospital, community mental health setting, school board, university clinic, or assessment-focused setting;
- Experience with psychological assessments and psychoeducational assessments;
- Experience working with rural, remote, Francophone, Indigenous, newcomer, or otherwise underserved communities;
- Experience using Jane App or other electronic medical record systems;
- Interest in long-term professional growth within Northern Ontario.
